This standard specifies the principle, symbols and instructions, hardness tester, test specimen, test method and test report of metal Vickers hardness test. This standard specifies the method of determining metal Vickers hardness according to three test force ranges. 1) Test force range, N: F ≥ 49.03, hardness symbol: ≥ HV5, test name: Vickers hardness test; 2) Test force range, N: 1.961 ≤ F < 49.03, hardness symbol: HV0.2 ~ < HV5, test name: small load Vickers hardness test; 3) Test force range, N: 0.098 07 ≤ F < 1.961, hardness symbol: HV0.01 ~ < HV0.2, test name: micro Vickers hardness test. This standard specifies that the length range of the diagonal of the Vickers hardness indentation is 0.020 ~ 1.400mm. The Vickers hardness test of special materials or products should be specified in the relevant standards. This standard is equivalent to the international standard ISO6507-1:1997 Metallic materials Vickers hardness test Part 1, test method. Except for the more detailed provisions on the surface quality of the specimen and the test data points, the technical content is completely consistent with ISO 6507-1. This standard is formulated on the basis of the following standards: GB/T4340—1984 Metal Vickers hardness test method\. GR/T500--1985 "Metal Small Load Vickers Hardness Test Method", GB/T 4342—1991 "Metal Micro Vickers Hardness Test Method". From the date of implementation of this standard, it replaces GB/T 4340-1984 "Metal Vickers hardness test method", GB/T 5030-1985 "Metal full-load small-load Vickers hardness test method" and GB/T 4342-1991 "Gold screen micro Vickers hardness test method". Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C of this standard are the appendixes of the standard, and Appendix L is the appendix of the standard.
