This specification specifies the general requirements for various types of semiconductor laser light sources. This specification applies to semiconductor laser light sources (referred to as modules) that are packaged in the same housing with a laser diode die, a monitoring photosensitive diode die, a thermal sensor (when necessary), and a cooler (when necessary) and coupled with a pigtail (when necessary). It also applies to laser light sources (referred to as diode light sources) composed of laser diodes (with or without pigtails).
