This specification applies to semiconductor laser light sources (referred to as modules) that are packaged in the same housing with a laser diode die, a monitoring photosensitive diode die, a thermal sensor (when necessary), and a cooler (when necessary) and coupled with a pigtail (when necessary). It also applies to laser light sources (referred to as diode light sources) composed of laser diodes (with or without pigtails).
