This standard adopts the European Economic Commission (ECE) Regulation No. 5 "Uniform Provisions for Approval of Sealed Lighting Groups (SB) with European Asymmetric Low Beam, High Beam or Both". This standard specifies the types of headlamps, the main dimensions and connection dimensions of circular and rectangular headlamps and their general requirements, and is applicable to automobiles*.
1 Terminology
1.1 Two-lamp headlamp
Two headlamps, one at each end, are symmetrically mounted at the front ends of the vehicle, and each headlamp provides high beam and low beam. 1.2 Four-lamp headlamp
Four headlamps are symmetrically installed in pairs at each end of the front end of the vehicle. In each pair of headlamps, one provides high beam and the other provides low beam or low and high beam.
1.3 Lighting group
A general term for the combination of a light distribution mirror, a reflector and a light source (a bulb or a filament assembly). Type
Headlamps are divided into the following categories according to the number of lights installed on the vehicle: 2.1
Two-lamp system,
Four-lamp system.
Headlamps are divided into the following categories according to the installation method:
Interior type,
Exterior type.
Headlamps are divided into the following categories according to the type of their lighting groups:
Semi-enclosed type,
Enclosed type.
Headlamps are divided into the following categories according to their shapes:

Headlamps are classified by beam type:

The size series of SD136 and SD100×165 headlamps shall comply with the provisions of Table 6. 3.6.1 The size series of four-lamp headlamp shall be determined by the distance between the centers of the two light groups in each pair of headlamps. The size series of SD136 and SD100×165 headlamps shall comply with the provisions of Table 6. The two high-beam light groups shall be installed on the inside, and the low-beam or low-and-high-beam light groups shall be installed on the outside.
