This standard is based on the requirements of the State Bureau of Technical Supervision to clean up and rectify national standards, and the original national standard GB6293.4-86 "Twist Pliers and Water Pump Pliers" was changed to an industry standard (this standard was issued by the State Light Industry Bureau [19991112 Document] and converted to QB/T3851.4-99, the content is the same as before). This standard is based on the original national standard GB6293.4-86, and is formulated with reference to the international standard ISO8976:1988 "Twist Pliers and Shearing Pliers--Dimensions and Test Values of Water Pump Pliers". This standard was proposed by the Industry Management Department of the State Bureau of Light Industry. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Tool Hardware Standardization Center. This standard was drafted by the Shanghai Tool Industry Research Institute, and the Red Star Knife and Scissors Factory in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province participated in the drafting. The main drafters of this standard are Lin Meide and Wu Jinliang. From the date of implementation of this standard, the original national standard GB6293.4-86 "Twist Pliers and Water Pump Pliers" shall be abolished. 12

3.1 Type
The types of water pump pliers are shown in Figures 1 to 3. And according to the jaw structure, they are divided into three types: sliding pin type, sample groove stacking type and jaw insertion type.
