In recent years, along with the reform of my country's labor system, the labor employment system has undergone major changes. The original concept of fixed employees has been abolished, and the identity boundary between cadres and workers is gradually being eliminated. According to the provisions of the Labor Law of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the "Labor Law") promulgated in July 1994, the labor contract system is implemented within its coverage. The laborer and the employer establish a labor relationship and clarify the rights and obligations of both parties through the signing of a labor contract. In order to meet the needs of the labor system reform, implement the "Labor Law", and standardize the personnel and labor management of the employer, this standard stipulates the classification and code of the employment form of the labor contract system based on the division of the labor contract period in Article 20 of Chapter 2 of the "Labor Law" and the development of my country's labor market.
This standard is jointly proposed by the State Administration of Technical Supervision, the Ministry of Labor of the People's Republic of China and the National Bureau of Statistics. This standard is managed by the China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding. This standard was drafted by: China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding, Information Center of the Ministry of Labor, Department of Labor Relations and Supervision of the Ministry of Labor, Department of Statistics Design and Management of the National Bureau of Statistics.

This standard adopts the following definitions.
Employment form in labour contract system
GB/T 16502—1996
An employment form in which an employer establishes a labor relationship with an employee through signing a labor contract in accordance with the current legal provisions and clarifies the rights and obligations of both parties.
3 Classification principles and coding methods
3.1 This standard is based on the classification of labor contract terms in Article 20 of Chapter 2 of the Labor Law, while taking into account the actual situation of the employer.
3.2 This standard adopts a sequential coding method, with one Arabic numeral representing the category of employment forms under labor contracts. 4 Classification and codes of employment forms under labor contracts The classification and codes of employment forms under labor contracts are shown in Table 1.
