Sampling Locations for Chemical, Physical, Mechanical and Color Fastness Tests on Leather This standard specifies the locations for cutting test samples from a single piece of leather and the marking of the cut test samples. This standard is applicable to leather made from the skins of mammals as above, while this standard is applicable to leather made from the skins of birds and other animals. 2 Terms and Definitions

3.1 Overview
3.1.1 Selection of samples
3.1.1.1 Sampling The area of sample selection in the experimental room should not be affected by obvious types of injuries, such as lacerations and knife wounds during puncture. 3.1.1.2 Sampling procedure for physical, chemical and color fastness tests Sampling 3.1.2 Sampling for physical and color fastness tests
Samples for physical and color fastness tests shall be taken from the shaded area in Figure 1-4 or from the initial sampling area. 3.1.3 Sampling for chemical tests
3.1.3.1 Samples for chemical tests shall be taken from the shaded blue area in Figure 1-4. 3.1.3.2 If the minimum required sample size for chemical testing cannot be obtained, sample the sample from the corresponding part of the sample. If this still cannot be obtained, sample the sample from the adjacent part. 3.1.3.3 Except for the analysis, the sample that has not been tested in the material test can be used for chemical testing.
