1 Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for environmental protection of containers and the corresponding inspection methods. GB/T35973—2018

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T1992 and the following terms and definitions shall apply to this document. 3.1

A general term for any organic compound with an initial boiling point lower than or equal to 250°C at a standard pressure of 101.3kPa. General requirements
4.1 Renewable materials should be used in container manufacturing, and the use of non-renewable resources should be reduced. 4.2 Raw materials used in container manufacturing should be conducive to recycling and reuse. 4.3 Structural parts used in container manufacturing should be designed to facilitate maintenance and disassembly without affecting the overall quality, so as to reduce the intensity of recycling operations.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Coatings
Water-based coatings should be used for container coatings, and the limits of harmful substances in coatings should meet the requirements of Table 1. 1

Measured after mixing according to the ratio and dilution ratio specified in the product. If the amount of diluent used is within a certain range, it should be diluted according to the recommended extreme dilution amount before measurement.
5.2 Flooring
Container floors should be made of bamboo, bamboo-wood mixture, fast-growing wood, plastic and composite materials, etc., and reduce the use of tropical hardwood. 5.2.1
5.2.2 The surface coating or film covering materials of floors and floor nails should meet the requirements of corresponding food safety transportation. 5.2.3 The content of free formaldehyde and free phenol in the floor should meet the relevant requirements of HJ571 5.3
Sealant
Water-based sealants should be used for sealants in boxes. They should have no irritating odor and should meet the requirements of corresponding food transportation safety. The limit of harmful substances in sealants should meet the requirements of Table 2.

6.1.1 Requirements for adding phthalates and glycol ethers to coating products shall be determined through on-site inspection. 6.1.2 The content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in coating products shall be tested in accordance with the provisions of HJ2537. 6.1.3 The content of heavy metals, lead, mercury and chromium in coating products shall be tested in accordance with the provisions of GB18582. The content of benzene, toluene, xylene and ethylbenzene in coating products shall be tested in accordance with the provisions of HJ2537. 6.1.4

6.1.5 The detection of halogenated hydrocarbon content in coating products shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of HJ2537. The detection of formaldehyde content in coating products shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of HJ2537. 6.1.6
Floor test
The detection of free formaldehyde and free phenol in the floor shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of HJ571. Sealant test
