Summary:
This standard specifies the determination method of unsaponifiable and unsaponifiable matter in soap. This standard is applicable to the determination of unsaponifiable and unsaponifiable matter in soap that is soluble in petroleum ether (or n-hexane) and saponifiable but unsaponifiable matter, except free fatty acids. This standard is not applicable to soaps with high content of mycelial alcohol or long-chain alcohol, nor to soaps containing fragrances and compound soaps.
