This standard specifies the syntax and semantics of the following three database languages: 1) Schema definition language: It is used to declare the structure and integrity constraints of the NDL database. 2) Sub-schema definition language: It is used to declare the user view of the NDL database. 3) Module language and data manipulation language: It is used to declare the database procedures and execution statements applied to the specific database. The applicable environment for the implementation of this standard includes: application design language, end-user query language, report generation system, data dictionary system, program library system and distributed communication system, as well as various tools for database design, data management and performance optimization.
