This standard is a revision and merger of GB561-65 "Types and sizes of turnbuckles for open rigging for ships", GB562-65 "Types and sizes of turnbuckles for closed rigging for ships", GB563-65 "Types and sizes of turnbuckles for rotating rigging for ships" and GB564-65 "Technical conditions for turnbuckles for ship rigging".
The original standard is too old and the strength level is not matched, which cannot meet the selection requirements of various types of ships. This revision expands the scope of application and the selection of materials, establishes 11 types and 19 specifications, and gives the safe working load of the strength level of the turnbuckle to meet the matching of various ships.
From the date of implementation, this standard will replace GB561-65, GB562-65, GB563-65, and GB564-65. This standard is proposed by the National Technical Committee for Ship Equipment Standardization. This standard is under the jurisdiction of Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd. The drafting unit of this standard: China Shipbuilding. The main drafters of this standard: Li Fuchang and Song Ren.

This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and transportation of turnbuckles for rigging (hereinafter referred to as turnbuckles).
This standard applies to shipboard lifting components, lifeboat davit accessories (hereinafter referred to as lifesaving), and turnbuckles for lashing and fastening. 2 Referenced standards
The provisions contained in the following standards constitute the provisions of this standard through reference in this standard. When this standard is published, the versions shown are valid. All standards will be revised, and parties using this standard should explore the possibility of using the latest versions of the following standards.
