Criteria of delimitation for IDD endemic areas
1 Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the delimitation standard for IDD endemic areas in my country. This standard applies to areas before iodine treatment and also to areas where iodine treatment is not effective. 2 Terminology
GB 16005--1995
Iodine deficiency disease (IDD) is a series of disorders caused by insufficient iodine intake, with intellectual development disorder as the main hazard, mainly including endemic goiter, endemic cretinism, subclinical cretinism, intellectual disability, reproductive dysfunction, etc. 3 Criteria for delimitation of IDD endemic areas
3.1 Iodine levels in internal and external environments
3.1.1 Urinary iodine: less than 100μg/L (50 males and 50 females, half). 3.1.2 Water iodine: less than 10 μg/L.
3.2 Condition
3.2.1 In townships, the goiter rate of primary school students aged 8 to 10 is greater than 5%; or the goiter rate of primary school students aged 7 to 14 is greater than 10% (palpation or B-ultrasound).
3.2.2 The classification standards for mild, moderate and severe disease areas are shown in the following table: 8-10 year old primary school students
Goiter rate, %
Mild disease area
Medium disease area
Severe disease area
7-14 year old primary school students
Goiter rate, %
Endemic cretinism
With or withoutwwW.bzxz.Net
Note: If the three indicators are inconsistent, the goiter rate of primary school students aged 8 to 10 or 7 to 14 shall prevail. Additional notes:
This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China. Urinary iodine
50~~100
25~~50
This standard was drafted by the Second Institute of Endemic Disease Control and Prevention of Jilin Province, and was jointly drafted by Hebei Medical College, Tianjin Medical College, Dandong Endemic Disease Control and Prevention Institute, and Shaanxi Endemic Disease Control and Prevention Institute. The main drafters of this standard are Sun Xiaolou, Qi Quan, Sun Yan, Zhang Xueying, Cheng Wenzeng, Han Shufen, Yuan Jinghui, and Shao Xiuzhi. This standard is interpreted by the China Endemic Disease Control and Prevention Research Center, the technical management unit entrusted by the Ministry of Health. Approved by the State Bureau of Technical Supervision on December 10, 1995 and implemented on July 1, 1996
