Summary:
JB/T 7963.3-1997 This standard is equivalent to ISO 4875/Ⅲ-1978 "Metal Cutting Band Saw Blades Part 3: Characteristics of Various Types of Saw Blades". This standard will replace JB/T 7963.2-95 from the date of its entry into force. This standard specifies the types of various metal cutting band saw blades (hereinafter referred to as band saw blades) classified by manufacturing materials, and indicates the specifications and dimensions of various types of band saw blades according to the series specified in JB/T 7963.2-1997. The hardness and test methods of band saw blades shall be in accordance with Appendix A (suggestive appendix). This standard is equivalent to ISO4875/Ⅱ一1978 "Metal Cutting Band Saw Blades Part 3: Characteristics of Various Types of Saw Blades". Since the types, specifications and sizes of metal cutting band saw blades given in ISO4875/Ⅱ are basically suitable for domestic requirements, they are equivalently adopted. According to the market needs and production development at home and abroad in recent years, the 27 and 34 specifications are added to the "4.5 Bimetallic Band Saw Blade". According to the provisions of GB/T1.1-1993, the legal measurement units and codes of the national standard shall be used in the standard, so this standard only uses the metric dimensions and tolerances in ISO4875/!, and removes the imperial dimensions and tolerances. The code for the number of teeth per inch in the pitch is retained in brackets.
Appendix A of this standard is a prompt appendix, which is a combination of Appendix A and Appendix B of ISO4875/!. 3.1 Carbon Steel Band Saw Blades
Band Saw Blades made of low alloy steel with a carbon content higher than 1.0% and lower than 1.5% (m/m). The total content of manganese, silicon and chromium should not be less than 0.5% (m/m).
3.2 Medium Alloy Steel Band Saw Blades
Band Saw Blades made of steel with an alloy content between carbon copper and high-speed steel. That is: high carbon alloy steel (carbon content 0.8%~1.25% (m/m)) containing carbide-forming elements such as chromium, vanadium, molybdenum or tungsten, with a total content higher than 8% but lower than 14% (m/m). 3.3 High-speed steel band saw blade
Band saw blade made of high-speed steel. High-speed steel is an alloy steel containing carbide-forming elements such as chromium, vanadium, molybdenum or tungsten, with a total content of at least 14% (m/m) (excluding carbon).
3.4 Double Gold Flag Band Saw BladebzxZ.net
Band saw blade with a cutting edge made of a material different from the back edge (usually high-speed steel) and docked to the back edge made of low-alloy steel. 3.5 Friction Band Saw Blade
Band saw blade made of fatigue-resistant steel, and cutting is performed by the heat generated by friction. [The main function of the saw teeth is to generate the required heat and inhale air to maintain combustion. Friction saws usually operate at speeds exceeding 40 m/s (8000 ft/min). Appropriate protective devices should be installed on the machine tool.

Appendix A
(Indicative appendix)
The hardness test of band saw blades is a special technology and can be carried out according to the following test methods: a) Vickers hardness test:
b) Surface Rockwell hardness 15N test;
e) Microhardness test.
Any reading obtained by the above method is converted into HRC equivalent hardness - Hardness of various types of band saw blades
-Use the approximate conversion table (see Table A1).
The hardness of the tooth edge of the band saw blades of carbon steel, medium alloy steel, high-speed steel and composite steel is higher than that of the saw blade body below the tooth groove. The hardness of the tip of the saw tooth shall not be less than 62HRC.
After heat treatment, the hardness of the saw blade body shall not be less than: a) For band saw blades made of carbon steel, hardened edge and flexible back edge, the hardness is 264HV (25HRC); b) For band saw blades made of carbon steel, hardened edge and tempered back edge, the hardness is 373HV (38HRC); c) For band saw blades made of medium alloy steel, high speed steel and composite steel, the hardness is 363HV (37HRC).
