Method for determination of ash content of lignite wax
This method is applicable to the determination of ash content of lignite wax. GB 2563-81
Method Key Points: After the lignite wax is burned, the remaining mineral residue is the ash content, expressed as a percentage by weight. I. Instruments
1. Instruments
(1) Porcelain snail: 50 ml;
(2) Electric furnace: 0-1000 watts;
(3) High-temperature furnace: capable of heating to 850°C, with a temperature control device, and equipped with a thermocouple and a high-temperature millivoltmeter; (4) Crucible tongs: one long handle and one short handle; (5) Desiccator;
(6) Analytical balance: accurate to 0.0002 g. II. Determination Steps
2. Wash and dry the crucible, then place it in a high-temperature furnace that has been heated to 800±20℃ and burn it for 1 hour. Take it out and cool it in the air for 3 minutes, then move it to a dryer to cool it for 30 minutes, and weigh it (accurate to 0.0002 grams). Burn it for another half an hour, cool it and weigh it until the difference between two consecutive weighings is no more than 0.0004 grams. 3. Weigh 5 grams of wax sample less than 1 mm (accurate to 0.0002 grams), put it in a constant weight, place it on an electric furnace, and slowly heat it in a fume hood to carbonize it. Control the heating temperature to prevent the wax sample from overflowing from the crucible or the volatiles from catching fire. If a fire occurs, immediately cover the crucible with a lid to extinguish the fire.
4. When only carbon-like residues are left in the crucible, move it into a high-temperature furnace and heat it at 800±20℃ until the residues are completely turned into ash (at least 1 hour). If a fire occurs, the test will be invalid. 5. After the residue is burned into ash, take out the crucible and place it in the air to cool for 3 minutes, then transfer it to a dryer to cool for 30 minutes and weigh it (accurate to 0.0002 grams).
6. Burn, cool and weigh for another half an hour until the difference between consecutive weighings is no more than 0.0004 grams. III. Calculation of results
7. The ash content A of the wax sample is expressed as a weight percentage and is calculated as follows: A=
Where: G1—crub weight, grams; wwW.bzxz.Net
G2—crub weight containing ash, grams;
G—weight of wax sample, grams.
8. Take the arithmetic mean of the results of two parallel measurements as the measurement result, and take the result to two decimal places. Issued by the State Administration of Standardization
